Why I Started PHLitHub
I launched PHLitHub because I noticed a gap in the way Philippine Literature is shared online. Most resources are either academic PDFs hidden behind paywalls or scattered, incomplete notes. I wanted to create a "Hub" that treats our local stories with the same digital polish as global literature, making our own national epics and contemporary works accessible to a generation that learns on their phones.
Our Mission: Bridging the "Context Gap"
Our mission is to move beyond simple plot summaries. At PHLitHub, we believe that you cannot understand a story without understanding the struggle of the people who wrote it. We bridge the gap between archaic texts and modern readers by providing:
Cultural Context: Why was a specific poem revolutionary in 1896?
Linguistic Clarity: Breaking down complex Tagalog and Spanish-influenced themes into clear, relatable insights.
Preservation: Ensuring that the "oral" traditions of our ancestors find a permanent, searchable home in the digital era.
Our Focus
PHLitHub is dedicated exclusively to the Filipino Voice. From the pre-colonial chants to the Mobile Phone Text Tula of the modern age, we are here to document the evolution of the Philippine spirit through the written word.
